Our Story & Our Team

Established in 2004

We opened our doors, or drive up windows, in 2004 in SW Boise and now we are in two great locations in the Northend and downtown Meridian.

We love coffee and most of all we love people. And we love that coffee brings people together.

Meet our family

We started with just the two of us walking into the unknown and now have the 3 boys and a beautiful daughter we brought home from India in 2019. They all have grown up in the back of the shops and know more about coffee than most people who drink it.

This business is truly our family business as we include all of us in it and it is all that we do. Our lives are coffee and the community it gathers. Along with our family we have had the privilege of creating a coffee family of the many people we have working for us.

We have been blessed by so many different baristas, many are still around and the rest have left their spot in our lives. This truly is one of the things we love about doing coffee, they may work for us but they have given back to us so much more. Relationships that last a lifetime.

How things went down

2004

The first location off 5-Mile and Overland was called Capozzi Espresso before we made it Mocha Moose. We were there for three years before we had to move down the road and then we sold it in 2008 because two locations was a lot to handle as we were starting our family and we were both in school at the time.

2005

We found out that the shop “Spill the Beans” was for sale and we jumped at the chance to be in that location. Stacia grew up stopping there on her way to going up the hill to Bogus Basin and knew what a great location it was. In the heart of Northend Boise.

2008

We sold the first location in Southwest Boise and had Mocha Moose off Bogus Basin solely until we were ready to expand.

2018

We knew we wanted to expand and had the opportunity to buy Big Star Coffee in Meridian and made the plunge and bought not only the business but the building too! We began the remodel of the building a little alter that year, and what a mess it was!! We officially turned the name over to Mountain Timber Coffee in April 2018. That has been an intense labor of love and has paid off, we love this quirky building with wings, and we love the people even more.

2019

We knocked on the door up the road for 3 years in hopes that it would open up and we could move in there. Well June 2019 that door opened up and we got to move into an empty building. We did an lightening fast remodel in 10 days because we had to get it done before we headed to India to get our daughter! We are so blessed to have this space and even better that we get to be a stones throw from where were we were for so so long! We plan on being there for even longer.

TODAY

Today, we are holding strong with our two locations, building our community and slinging coffee to the amazing people in the Treasure Valley. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

We may have started with nothing and feeling like we knew even less than that but what we have built over the last couple decades is not something we take for granted.

It is so much more than a cup of coffee when you stop in to one of our shops. We want to know you and you know us. That is what community is.
